I just found you people - this is really great. Unfortunately I do not have a computer and am making this contact thru my son in law. I am quite interested in getting in contact with everyone. Am particularly interested in finding any one of the Otachi sisters. I will send an Email to Jim Morton. Thanks for the pictures they bring back lots of memories.

I still haven't heard from anyone except Dolan Brammer and John Moffitt. Where is everybody? I read here about Mr. Shay. He helped me out a lot back in the ol' days.

Mitzi, do you remember me back in 1963?

Our generation is dying at the rate of 1200 every day.

The years some of us spent at Greer School were the years between World War II and the Korean War.
We have an obligation to inform historians about what it was like to be kids living at that time in an institution for "children from broken homes."

Agree? or Disagree?

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to say how great it was to see so many of you at our last reunion. Only wish we had more time to talk!
My husband, Michael, and I just relocated to Staunton, Virginia, to the Shenandoah Valley; and are so excited to be back East closer to family and friends.

My new e-mail is: (not being published here - contactthe webmaster)

If anyone wants to reconnect, stop by, or plan a visit, please get in touch.

That would be great.
Charmi

Wow! 12 years after losing touch with my daughter, I found her, happily married, and the mother of my one and only grandson....maybe....11 years old.

God, do I feel old.

Anyway, she's doing well, living in Tennessee close to the N.C. border,...

...and isn't the Internet great!

(Webmaster: Congratulations, Bob. Now you have a lot of catching up to do...spoiling the kid.)

I am interested in how Greer School got established in the 1930s. If anyone has any information, you can e-mail my grandson at Crazy2685@aol.com.
I resided in Plum Cottage. My house mother was Ms. Sutton. My two friends were Harriet and Dickie Bunn.
Thank you for your help.

Sincerely,
Mary Ann MacDonald-Segear

I am putting together a small group of "do you remember" type stuff. Probably 4-5 paragraphs. I will try to get it to you in a few days. You could put it under the "Comments" in guestbook if you decide to use any of it, or anywhere else on the site.

My brother John and I attended Greer School from the time he and I were eight and nine years old respectively. We began in 1952 at Marcy Cottage with "Mom" Morton and then I went on to Daisy and Rapallo. Both John and I left Greer School in 1958 for a small boys Episcopal school (Hoosac School) in Hoosic, N.Y. from which we both graduated, he in 1962 and I in 1960.

Just had two shocks - one good, one bad. The good one was finding these pages and seeing so many old friends again; the bad one was discovering how many of my 1960 classmates were gone.

Anyway, Tony: you've done a marvelous job here - congratulations.
